The REI’s primary goals are to provide resources that support RBA member conformance to the RBA Code of Conduct across four environmental sustainability priority topics, build supply chain capacity for adoption of best practices, and promote industry leadership.
Through RBA collaboration and engagement, the REI helps RBA members and their suppliers to identify, assess, and address environmental sustainability challenges facing their industries through collective action. Guided by informed decision making and a supply chain focus, the REI develops and deploys tools and services that companies may use for supply chain due diligence on environmental, health, and safety risks in alignment with international standards on responsible business conduct.

Primary Focus Areas
The REI focuses on issues where the RBA can add value through stakeholder engagement, industry collaboration, capacity building, and advocacy. Learn more about our work across each of the priority focus areas:
REI Governance and RBA Member Engagement
The REI is guided by a Senior Environmental Advisory Team (SEAT), consisting of environmental sustainability leaders from a cross-section of RBA member companies. The SEAT provides guidance to the REI team to help meet the needs of RBA members and their industries in accordance with the REI mission.
The REI hosts three Working Groups that facilitate RBA member engagement, including the Environmental Sustainability Working Group, the Chemical Management Working Group, and the Circularity and Waste Minimization Working Group. RBA members can sign up for these Working Groups in the RBA Member Portal.
REI tools and resources are available to all RBA members. Please contact rei@responsiblebusiness.org for additional information.
